Design Intern

Job Description

As a Design Intern, you will assist the Senior UX Designer and design team in producing marketing collateral for our clients. The ideal candidate should have a proficient knowledge of graphic design, product and studio photography, physical assembly, prototyping and crafting skills. This position requires self-motivation, professionalism and the ability to handle multiple tasks as a team player.

Responsibilities:

• Able to take direction and represent a concept visually
• Execute design elements to use based on Project Scope
• Shadow design team as needed to assist the Account Strategist, Content Manager and Social Media Manager to develop the overall look or style of deliverables and appropriate creative direction
• Assist the design team in generating original visual executions that are both exciting and creatively attractive
• Deliver work of the highest quality after working with team members to develop new ideas

Requirements:

• Some college or university or equivalent experience
• Strong communication skills to develop healthy team dynamics and inspire collaboration 
• a strong knowledge of typography, image manipulation, illustration and animation
• a broad understanding of marketing design and layout 
• the ability to generate a reliable supply of original ideas and visual concepts
• the confidence to explain and support your thinking
• a flexible approach and willingness to adapt your ideas to the needs of the team
• a keen eye for visual details and accuracy
• the resilience to perform under pressure and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
• Exceptional design skills, production value, and attention to detail
• Basic to proficient knowledge with any and/or all of the following:
  • Graphic design
  • Creating moodboards and other design collateral
  • Digital Prototyping and UI design
  • Motion graphics / animation
  • Sketching
  • Videography

• Ability to create marketing materials for different platforms (e.g. social media, web, print or digital media, etc).

• Proficient working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and related design tools
• Some knowledge of Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD is a plus
• Basic knowledge of web development or web development concepts is a plus
